Briony is a seasoned financial industry professional with over a decade of experience, currently serving as the Director of Model Risk Management at Bank of Hawaiʻi. In this role, she oversees governance and reporting for the bank’s entire model inventory and is responsible for conducting and supervising annual model reviews and validations, including those performed by external parties. Her expertise spans the design and implementation of comprehensive MRM programs, including the development of including developing policies, procedures, and templates that support model governance, development and implementation, and validation.
Prior to joining Bank of Hawaiʻi, Briony was the Model Risk Manager at Banner Bank, where she built and maintained the institution’s MRM framework and conducted validations across a diverse range of models. She also held a role in the Quantitative Services practice at Promontory Financial Group, Inc., where she provided regulatory-focused quantitative solutions, with a particular emphasis on model validation. Briony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School, and is a Certified FRM.
