Oksana Cherniavsky

former Head of ALM & Investment Strategy - New York Life Insurance Company

Oksana Cherniavsky is an ALM and risk Management Professional with nearly 20-years of experience in financial services.  She started her career at the Goldman Sachs Reinsurance Group (currently Global Atlantic Financial Group) as a quantitative strategist. There she subsequently led the risk management and deal analytics teams.   She left GA in 2013 to run Stress Testing and Governance function in the Risk Management group at AIG. Most recently she held roles as the Head of ALM Strategy and Analytics at Prudential, and Head of ALM and Investment Strategy at New York Life, managing large teams of quantitative and investment professionals building out state-of-the-art frameworks and analytic infrastructure to enable robust Risk and ALM decisions. 

Oksana completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics at Harvard University, and received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Columbia, working under the guidance of the 2023 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, Louis E. Brus.  Oksana is co-author of 12 scientific publications, and 2 patents.
