Alex Cannon

Alex Cannon is the head of Balance Sheet Solutions and leads global strategy for all Risk and Finance Solutions within Moody’s Banking Business Unit. His background includes divisional CFO roles at regional and community banks, with expertise in corporate finance, corporate development, M&A accounting, risk modeling, financial reporting, and credit loss quantification. Alex is an active CPA in the state of Georgia, and holds BBAs in Finance and Real Estate, as well as a Masters in Accounting from Georgia State University.

Aykut Zeren
SVP, Senior Director, Head of Capital & Liquidity Risk Oversight

Aykut Zeren is SVP, Senior Director Head of Capital & Liquidity Risk Oversight within the Market and Treasury Risk Management team at KeyBank, where he oversees firm-wide liquidity risk and capital management.  With more than 20 years of experience in risk management, he brings expertise in liquidity risk, interest rate risk, capital management, trading market risk, and economic capital. Prior to his current role, he led the trading market risk oversight function at Key. Earlier in his career, he led Economic Capital initiatives, and he drafted the firm’s initial Resolution Plan as part of the Resolution Planning Office. He holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Brian Gilbert

Brian Gilbert, CFA, serves as the Chief Banking Officer for Empyrean Solutions. Brian previously worked for Pinnacle Bank for over two decades, as it grew from a de novo institution into a $120 billion Category IV bank. He served in a variety of Finance and Treasury roles and most recently as its Corporate Treasurer. Previously, Brian was in public accounting for five years serving as a financial institutions auditor. Brian has extensive experience in interest rate risk management, asset liability modeling, net interest margin forecasting, liquidity risk management, liquidity stress testing, capital forecasting, capital stress testing, funds transfer pricing, behavioral modeling, portfolio management, capital markets, derivatives, relationship pricing and significant risk transfers. Brian holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from Tennessee Tech University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

She has served multiple leadership roles in New York, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen, including Managing Director of Product Strategy for Predictive Analytics. There, she led the strategy and delivery of EDF-X, Moody’s flagship credit analytics product, and Head of Executive Programs to the President of Moody’s Analytics, supporting the executive team on global growth and strategy prioritization.

Diego de Aragão, CFA is the Senior Vice President of Balance Sheet Management & Analytics with Citigroup, based in Tampa, FL, where he leads a team deploying machine learning and artificial intelligence integrated solutions aimed at optimizing his firm’s $2.4T of balance sheet exposures. His 15+ years career spans across organizations (Citigroup, American Express), functions (technology, business intelligence/data analytics, finance, and corporate treasury), and geographies (Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States). Diego holds a BS degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Florianópolis, Brazil, an MS degree in Finance from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo, Brazil, and an MBA degree from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Frank Henry

Frank Henry is head of the Funding Desk at Ally Bank where he oversees the firm’s cash, liquidity, and collateral management. Prior to joining the Funding Desk, Frank held leadership positions in Liquidity Risk and Balance Sheet Management. He has been with Ally for 16 years in various treasury roles.

Frank resides in Charlotte with his wife and 3 children. He enjoys golf and fishing as hobbies, and is active in the Myers Park Presbyterian Church, where he serves on the Session and chairs the Weekday School Board.

Jennifer Imler
Head of Balance Sheet Advisory
Truist

Jennifer Imler is Head of Balance Sheet Advisory at Truist, where she leads efforts to optimize the firm’s deployment of capital, liquidity, and balance sheet capacity. Her team translates regulatory and balance sheet constraints into decision-ready insights that support client growth and market competitiveness.
Prior to Truist, Jennifer advised banks on funding, capital, and liquidity strategies at SMBC Nikko America. She previously led a team at Wells Fargo Securities responsible for firmwide short-term wholesale funding, with a focus on the liquidity and capital implications of balance sheet deployment.
Earlier, Jennifer served as Head of Marketable Debt Issuance at the U.S. Treasury, advising the Under Secretary of Domestic Finance on federal funding strategy while structuring the Treasury’s floating rate note program. She also contributed to Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and 2a-7 reform efforts.
She began her career at Wachovia in municipal derivatives and CMBS structuring and trading.

Philipe Berman

Philipe Berman is the Global Head of Liquidity Risk Management at TD Bank Group, where he oversees liquidity and funding risk management across several jurisdictions and businesses. Philipe bring extensive experience in liquidity, funding, capital management, stress testing, and balance sheet management from senior roles at Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Itau Unibanco. He holds a Master of Research in Economics from Tinbergen Institute / Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Rob Demilio
Managing Director – Head of Interest Rate Risk and CFO Market Risk

Rob DeMilio is currently working in the Global Risk Management department at Bank of America with responsibility for oversight of enterprise Interest Rate Risk as well as Market Risk within the CFO organization. After initially joining Bank of America in 2001 as a computer programmer in the Technology department, Rob transferred to the Market Risk team in early 2008 to oversee mortgage hedging activities performed by the CFO organization. Over time, Rob increased his scope of responsibility to include coverage of foreign exchange hedging and ALM portfolio investments before also taking on responsibility for Interest Rate Risk in 2021.

In addition to his primary job responsibilities, Rob has been very active in employee engagement at the bank. He recently served as the chair his group’s Employee Engagement, Development, and Inclusion council for two years where he was a champion for many key initiatives related to volunteering, training, and team building.

Rob has a B.S. in Computer Science from Clemson University with an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Ryan Hergrueter

Ryan Hergrueter is BNY Mellon’s Head of Balance Sheet and Capital Management since August 2022, reporting to the Corporate Treasurer. He joined the company in 2019.

The Balance Sheet and Capital Management team responsibilities include capital planning, capital adequacy and capital allocation activities within Treasury, as well as balance sheet strategy for the company. In addition, Ryan co-runs the Asset Strategy Forum, partnering with the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Lending officer to proactively drive opportunities to improve income and risk-adjusted returns using the balance sheet.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Ryan held senior leadership roles in Treasury, most recently State Street Corporation, and prior to that Banco Santander and J.P. Morgan. Responsibilities at prior institutions include Investment Portfolio Management, Funding & Liquidity Risk Management, Capital Management, Stress Testing, and Interest Rate Risk Management, working both in the United States and Europe.

Tyler Zinder is Senior Director, Risk Strategy & Governance at Ally Financial and a bank leader with 15+ years’ experience spanning Corporate Treasury and Risk Management functions, including balance sheet management, capital planning and stress testing, liquidity and funds management, pricing, forecasting, and regulatory compliance. At Ally, his work has focused on enterprise resilience and integrating risk management insights into strategy development. Prior to Ally, Tyler held several senior-level roles in Regions’ Corporate Treasury and Risk Management functions. Tyler has also served as a Risk Management Examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Tom Vasel

Tom Vasel is SVP, Director, Head of ALM and IRR Oversight at Key. In this role Tom serves as 2LOD for IRR in addition to reviewing balance sheet strategies and funds transfer pricing.  Tom has over 10 years of interest rate experience, including both 1LOD and 2LOD perspectives.   He is responsible for review & challenge, independent analysis, and reporting to senior management and the Board. Tom holds an M.S. in Finance from the Weatherhead School of Management and a B.A. in both Mathematics and Economics from Case Western Reserve University.
